Extraction happens at the cursed elevator — get the whole crew back before calling it, then ride up together. The most common wipe is a single player rushing ahead and breaking their vessel at the elevator door. Carry as much as you safely can, but a clean extraction with decent furniture always beats a deep run that ends in a full-crew break and zero loot.

Start with the cheap Oak Hauler or Pine Runner and learn the loop — the elevator, furniture spawns and enemy behaviour. Upgrade to the Ash Scout once you can consistently extract, then aim for the Ironwood Carrier when you start hauling heavy furniture. The Deep-Rot Colossus is a late-game tank best unlocked after you understand corruption and Deep Layer risks.

Your Living Spark survives the vessel breaking. You can keep guiding the team as a floating Spark and possess a new body if one is available. If the entire crew breaks at the same time, the run ends and all unextracted loot is lost forever — which is why co-ordinating extraction is the most important skill in the game.
